google ne ha sfornata un’altra delle sue e devo dire che questa ciambella è uscita col buco . google has another of its sfornata and I must say that this has come out with the doughnut hole. si tratta di un sistema di ricerca (come era intuibile) per i brevetti registrati. this is a search system (as was intuibile) for patents registered. La base di dati indicizzata è imponente, spazia in moltissimi settori e copre un vasto arco temporale (ci sono documenti antecedenti al 1800!). The database is indexed impressive, ranging in many areas and covers a wide timeframe (there are documents before 1800). il servizio fornisce le specifiche di ogni brevetto, le fotografie originali digitalizzate della documentazione del brevetto, eventuali riferimenti e citazioni. The service provides the specifications of each patent, the original photographs digitized documentation of the patent, any references and citations.

molto divertente, almeno per il sottoscritto, navigare fra questo mare di informazioni. very funny, at least for myself, navigate among this sea of information.

si scoprono cose interessanti come per esempio: you find interesting things such as:

• ci sono 479 brevetti per gli schiaccianoci… il primo di essi è della fine del 1800! there are 479 patents for the Nutcracker… the first of these is the end of 1800!
• la sola microsoft ha sottoposto più di 1100 brevetti (facilmente consultabili ricercando: inassignee:microsoft corporation) the only microsoft has submitted more than 1100 patents (easily accessible by seeking: inassignee: microsoft corporation)
• lo sciaquone del water è stato brevettato nel 1880 da un certo WILLIAM AT WATER … cognome azzeccato sciaquone of the water has been patented in 1880 by a certain WILLIAM AT WATER… surname azzeccato
• anche linus torvalds ha registrato qualche brevetto il cui solo nome fa venire mal di testa linus torvalds also has seen some patent whose only name brings headache
• quando il vostro antivirus si aggiorna via internet quacluno sta pagando le royalties a Network Associates, Inc che ha brevettato l’update automatico nel 1997 when your anti-virus updates via the Internet quacluno is paying royalties to Network Associates, Inc., which has patented the automatic update in 1997

buona ricerca good research brevetti patents e se trovate qualcosa di simpatico and if you find something nice fatemi un fischio . fatemi a whistle.
